Biographical Record

Jean-Hilaire Aubame was born in Libreville on November 10, 1912. Protected in his youth by Governor-General Félix Éboué, Aubame was elected Deputy for Gabon to the French National Assembly in Paris from 1946 to 1958, championing workers' rights and African legislative autonomy.
